Sydney Stakes Winner For Amadeus Wolf

Former shuttle sire Amadeus Wolf sired his sixth individual stakes winner when the Chris Waller-trained import Mister Sea Wolf won the Listed Winter Challenge at Rosehill on Saturday.

The 6YO Mister Sea Wolf (Amadeau Wolf x Rose De France by Diktat) was recording his maiden win in Australia, taking his record to seven wins from 32 starts.

Amadeus Wolf, a son of Mozart, shuttled to Victoria from 2010 to 2012. He has produced six stakes winners headed by European G3 winners Hamza and Papagena Star.

Mister Sea Wolf Horseform is one of six winners from six foals to race from Rose De France (Diktat). They include G2 winner and sire Cable Bay, who will be standing his second season in Australia this spring at Woodside Park Stud.

Rose De France is a half-sister to the G3 winner Bowman (Irish River) and the stakes-placed Ahtoug (Byron), who was champion older sprinter in Great Britain in 2014, and the placed mare Cara Bella (Seeking The Gold).

The now deceased Cara Bella is the dam of three Australian stakes winners - Bello (Exceed And Excel), Emblems (Shamardal) and Trentchant (Medalgiia d’Oro).

Mister Sea Wolf’s second dam is the dual G1 winner Cherokee Rose (Dancing Brave).

Race Synopsis: Irish import Mister Sea Wolf broke through for his first Australian win at his ninth start since joining the Chris Waller stable. Racing in blinkers for the first time, he settled in seventh place, on the rails, got along the inner rounding the home turn, switched out to challenge at the 200m and finished a bit too well to score a narrow but good win. It was also a good ride by Jason Collett. Godolphin-raced gelding Flow had a nice trip in fifth place on the rails, improved to third at the home turn and looked the winner when he took the lead at the 100m. He then battled on quite well for second, beaten a short neck. Special Missile went to the front as expected and led until the 200m and then held on to take the minor placing. Hiflyer was back in eighth place (and deep) at the 600m and made ground under his top weight (59.5kg) for (2.9 lengths) fourth. The favourite Invinzabeel raced outside the leader, briefly looked a threat at the 200m but then disappointed over the latter stages for (3.3 lengths) fifth.
