Top Lot Goes To Les Bridge
Randwick trainer Les Bridge will prepare the Not A single Doubt colt purchased by Hong Kong clients for $400,000 at the opening session of the Classic Yearling Sale at Newmarket on Saturday.
The top lot wast knocked down to Carmel Size, wife of leading Hong Kong trainer John Size, on behalf of Hong Kong–based owner Bon Ho.
The colt by Not A Single Doubt from Pinocchio was offered by Tyreel Stud and made the second-highest price ever at the Classic Yearling Sale.
The session saw 10 lots sold for $200,000 or more with five making $300,000 or more in the Gold Riband section.
The overall sale average was $90,845, well ahead of last year’s $57,053, with the Gold Riband catalogue of 57 lots averaging $130,200.
The session aggregate was $6,510,000.
Yarraman Park led vendors with a return of $982,500 from seven lots sold while Tyreel Stud had the leader by average at $323,333 from three offerings including the two priced lots.
Darby Racing was the leading buyer with six purchases.
