Original Blog Post:

We have seen lots of threads started in 2016 for BEST BETS - I reckon it would be advantageous to see them on the one thread. I have not posted a BEST BET consistently but I have had several that I had great confidence in.

No rules but I would not expect a BEST BET to be a double digit price unless it was declared as an EWayer. I would also not expect to see any at odds on, but to each their own.

Here's to many successful BEST BETS for the year.

Cheers,

Tod

While this pick could qualify for the RUFFIES thread, I am real keen on it to at least place -there are $$$$ signs in my eyes

SR8 Olympic Academy - the 1800m looks ideal and the jock is going goods, and the claim won't hurt either. $16 power boosted to $21) & $4.80. The biggest danger in my book, is the weather. Being placed 6 times out of 10 on soft, no wins, is the worry.

An even better bet BR9 Kinshachi - $9 - stablemate is danger on best form, but has yet to regain it.

MR8 Invicible Al - back on a dry deck with an in form apprentice - $11 & $3.50 early today, but may pay to wait and see if winners are coming from back in field. He will have to do this to win. He can blow them away in straight.

Mel. EUREKA STREET in the last. Coming off a short break and has trialed OK. The wet track if they are still racing, brings him right into it.

Ascot. ROck MAGIC in the Winterbottom. Liked the way he ran past Vega Magic and Redkirk Warrior in the Darley Classic. More suited back at Ascot.

Cheers, Loges.

SR9 - Perfect Dare - was aimed at the G3 race in Brisbane but wet track spoiled the plans - the 3kg claim brings him in OK, and he is better than these

MR7 Dusty Jack - the wide barrier is a hurdle, but if they don't try an early forward move and elect to find cover back in the field, he can rattle off great sectionals and the long run home, will give him his chance - best odds currently is $11

BR7 #1 Denmagic

Doesn’t win out of turn, but I think will be too good for these. Goes well fresh.

MR8 #10 Oncidium Ruler

Love the Kent horses and think it’s last start win was very good in good time. About 10 bucks at time of post.

Best Bet thread continues to throw up good winners. Many thanks to Tod and Loges.

I haven't had a good look at the replays yet, but I would not sack LucyinRio as I must have seen something that caught my eye and where there is smoke!

Couldn't buy an F4 yesterday, but finally got a good piece of the quaddie.

Keep up the good work guys as this thread is pure GOLD.

Cheers, The Pig.

MR10 today.Invincabella and Petition to quinella the race.
Throw in #1 Ravi and #14 Lucyinrio for the exotics.

SR8 H3 Redouble and SR9 H10 Pomelo should both win,but bear in mind the vagaries of post MC racing. Good punting all,The Pig.

Todman, my best today is Payroll in the same race as Kidmenever.
Plonked it before I saw your post! Doesn't win out of turn but last 2 runs have been eye-catchers and could be suited by the Sandown rise.

Might have a saver closer to the jump.

Cheers, Loges.

I am backing Charlie Appelby.

MR9 Kidmenever - went OK at Sandown 2 starts back LOL, but seriously, the trainer reckoned he never got the distance, last start, in a fast run race, and he pulled up with the thumps - should be too classy for these - $8 enhanced odds looks real value
