Exceed And Excel Filly Sets Tattersalls Record

A daughter of Australian sire Exceed And Excel has established a new record price of 500,000 guineas for a filly sold through Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Sale.

Richard Brown acting on behalf of SackvilleDonald’s Alastair Donald secured the filly.

A daughter of the Listed-placed mare Tiana, the filly is a sister to five winners including Beat The Bank, the impressive winner of last month’s G2 Joel Stakes.

Beat The Bank is owned by King Power Racing and Donald indicated that the filly had been purchased on behalf of the same connections.

A total of eight lots realised 300,000 guineas or more on the second day of Book 2 when turnover of 15,197,000 guineas was realised for the 203 lots sold.

The average increased by 12% to 74,862 guineas and the median rose 20% to 60,000 guineas.
