Tavistock remains at the top of the Cambridge Stud roster after the New Zealand stud announced its fees for 2017.

Tavistock (Montjeu) will stand for an unchanged fee of $NZ65,000 (plus GST) this spring.

Tavistock has sired 11 individual stakes winners including four G1 winners including Hong Kong champion Werther and Derby winners Tarzino and Tavago.


He is currently fourth on the NZ sires standings behind Savabeel.

Tavistock covered 300 mares last year but his numbers will be reduced in 2017.

"He's had two or three hectic years. We had more than 300 applications to Tavistock last year and I had planned on restricting him to 160 mares," said Sir Patrick Hogan.

Cambridge Stud wiil also stand shuttle stallion Power (Oasis Dream) for an increased fee of $NZ12,500 (plus GST), up from $NZ8000 (plus GST) last year.

Power has sired five stakes winners including the G2 winner Gift Of Power and is currently second in the New Zealand 2YO sires standings by winners behind Savabeel.

Burgundy (Redoute’s Choice) will also stand for an increased fee of $NZ7000 (plus GST) this season, up from $NZ5000 (plus GST).

Burgundy has sired three winners from his first crop this season.

Keeper (Danehill), who has sired six G1 winners and 33 stakes winners overall, will stand for a reduced fee of $NZ5000 (plus GST).
