Adam Blencowe

Senior Handicapper

Adam Blencowe was a bookmaker & hailed from a bookmaking family. His real passion though was thoroughbred race form analysis & in 2006 he took the opportunity to join Racing and Sports & develop his skills under acclaimed handicapper Gary Crispe.

Adam's assisted Gary to establish & maintain the - now global - R&S handicap. It provides the key information that helps R&S pick winners. And as senior handicapper he's assisted other major projects including the overhaul of handicapping processes at Racing NSW, as well as the on-going development of the Timeform brand in Australia.

Growing up in Canberra, Adam had an interest in racing from a young age. Witnessing - as a seven-year-old - the mighty Super Impose winning the 1992 Canberra Cup, was the first of many great racing memories. At the time he was unaware that Super Impose was a "128 horse" - deep analysis of race form and times was to come later. But he liked what he saw & a cheeky 50c each way on "Super" two weeks later in the Cox Plate (at juicy odds), ensured the racing bug was caught for life.

Racing and Sports owns the most comprehensive privately-owned horse racing database in the world. It contains detailed race records of some 660,000 thoroughbred race horses covering jurisdictions such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, South Africa, the UK, Ireland, France and Germany.

This information-rich database allows for each individual run - in every race - to be thoroughly & efficiently analysed; with this analysis providing the backbone of Racing and Sports' market-tested global handicap. This much sought after analysis keeps Racing and Sports at the cutting edge of the thoroughbred racing industry. Adam draws extensively on this resource in his global race form analysis.

Adam can be heard regularly on RSN Racing and Sports Radio, Melbourne.
