Don loves thoroughbred racing & working with exciting brands. At Racing and Sports he reckons he hit the quinella.
Don's had 17 years experience in corporate communications, influencing diverse audiences. He's developed, nurtured & re-positioned many quality brands, executed multi-million dollar mass-media communications campaigns & provided strategic solutions to many organisational challenges.
From being a journalist & radio news director & a political media adviser, he successfully transitioned into senior public awareness & strategic communication roles.
Don's initial contact with R&S was when the organisation was still in its infancy. He undertook the re-branding of the Queanbeyan Racing Club - introducing "Q Racing" & its associated logo, & strap-line "Country Racing in the City".
R&S developed an award-winning website for the 'new look' club, with form & interactive components developed to drive wagering turnover locally, & especially from meetings simulcast into the US. The website, which over the years has devolved into something quite different, was futuristic, compelling, & it delivered. R&S was in Don's blackbook.
Don oversees internal and external communications at Racing and Sports, including its corporate identity and messaging.
He relishes working with a team of inspiring thinkers, racing form specialists, content writers & information technologists, based in Canberra & Singapore (servicing the Asian region).
Don's outside interests include racing, rugby union, news and current affairs.
