The Group 1 Patron's Bowl is the clear highlight in Singapore this evening with the Cliff Brown trained Debt Collector set to bounce back.

Although unable to really mount a winning challenge in the Group 2 Stewards' Cup (key lead up), Debt Collector is expected to improve sharply both second up and getting out to the mile.

In what was built up as a race in two (Debt Collector and Lim's Cruiser), the Michael Clements trained Alibi had other ideas when too strong on-speed in the feature event.

Combined Lim's Cruiser Horseform and Debt Collector Horseform held 86% of the market, however both failed to really threaten the judge.

While some felt the 4YO series could become a bit one-sided, Alibi Horseform's victory illustrated that it is certainly game on.

In what was his first start since Dubai (64 days), Debt Collector should strip a lot fitter and has won three of four attempts over 1600m.

When assessing his best form, he still has a fair bit up his sleeve and can certainly reaffirm his place at the top of the Singapore tree.

From the middle draw, Debt Collector is expected to settle back in the field before making his run in the straight.

Leading rider Michael Rodd continues his association and he is sure to make his presence felt.

The Michael Clements trained Alibi Horseform really impressed in the Stewards' Cup and looms as a major threat from the gun draw.

A bold winner first up, Alibi Horseform went on to finish second behind Lim's Cruiser in the Group 1 Lion City Cup [1200m].

On that occasion, Alibi didn't have a lot of luck and arguably should have finished a lot closer, after being tightened for room at the start, before blocked for a run in the straight.

In the Stewards' Cup, Alibi enjoyed a far better run in transit, parked outside the lead by jockey Glen Boss.

Unlike the Lion City Cup, Alibi got a jump on his main rivals and after travelling boldly, he gave plenty when cut loose inside the 300m.

Displaying a good turn of foot, Alibi established a 1L margin over Infantry Horseform and really dug deep late to score by half a length.

Having returned a new career peak in the Lion City, Alibi proceeded to take a another step forward last start and is clearly heading the right way.

Only lightly raced, Alibi has won six of his 11 starts, placing on a further four occasions.

His only blemish came in last year's Group 2 EW Barker Trophy [1400m] when finishing fifth behind Lim's Cruiser.

In what is just his second preparation, Alibi's victory was no fluke and he remains open to further improvement — expect him to receive a lot more market respect this evening.

Off a different form line, the Cliff Brown trained Elite Excalibur Horseform cannot be underestimated.

Elite Excalibur is unbeaten in Singapore and wasn't disgraced against tougher company in Dubai.

Formerly trained in Australia [Old Name: River Wild], he is certainly more than capable and remains under strong notice with Vlad Duric aboard.

Of the rest the Stephen Gray trained Lim's Cruiser Horseform appears the next in line.

Not a lot went right for him in the Stewards Cup and he was still only narrowly beaten.

Don't be surprised to see him settle a lot closer to the speed this time around and he certainly commands respect.

Good luck and happy punting.
