The nine race card features some big fields throughout the afternoon and with the track potentially improving into the soft range, those sizes could hold up even after scratchings.

There were a few contenders for the best bet of the program however have settled on Carzoff in the #Theraces Benchmark 78 Handicap (1800m).

Carzoff Horseform turned heads on making his Australian debut, running second to Pelorus Jack Horseform over a mile at Warwick Farm 17 days ago.

The French import settled last and charged home late.

He will have derived good improvement from the run and is expected to go one better here.

The son of Zoffany while catching the eye, ran well below his best figures achieved in France where he was stakes placed.

It highlights just how much room for improvement he has.

Chris Waller has a knack for importing European stayers who can quickly take to Australian racing and Carzoff is shaping as another example.

He strikes a race on Saturday which lacks in terms of quality, comprised largely of off season miler/middle distance types.

Both his prior outings in Europe on rain affected tracks have been solid as well.

Carzoff produced his lone career win on a soft track and placed in his other start.

The best value play kicks off the quadrella in the form of Tucanchoo Horseform in the Kensei Handicap (2000m).

The Team Hawkes-trained gelding has placed in each of his runs this prep, the latest when second to Supply And Demand.

He was finding the line well late on that occasion however just gave the winner too much of a head start at the top of the straight.

Tucanchoo can turn the tables on Supply And Demand this Saturday

Beaten 1.3 lengths a fortnight ago, the son of Pentire now meets Supply And Demand Horseform 2kg better at the weights.

He will be fitter again third run from a spell and be suited by a step up to 2000m considering he is a winner over 2400m.

The addition of Tommy Berry is also a positive with the pair having won their lone start in partnership.

Rosehill is currently rated a Heavy 8 and should likely be upgraded into the Soft range by Saturday.

Tucanchoo has an excellent record on Soft tracks having won three of his four starts on them and finished second on the other occasion.

The each way price presently on offer appeals about the versatile Team Hawkes-trained runner.
