Newcastle: Race 4 @ 2:35pm

WORKDRINKS resumes and she’s a first-up winner with strong back form. Owns solid trials and Brown sticks off the latest. TOOTZ ran his best race winning at Port Macquarie and it was deserved. She will use the rail and gets the chance to go on. DARBIES BLUGIRL is going along okay and wasn’t far away here last time when caught wide. PAINTED LADY next best forgiving the latest. SELECTIONS: Justified shorties rule the day. # 4 Workdrinks can get the quaddie rolling.

Wellington: Race 1 @ 1:05pm

WHITSUNDAY was slow off and but ran his best race at Newcastle 10 days ago. That stacks right up and the low gate and Ryan’s booking add to the confidence. ALEXANDRA DEMURE has had good support the three runs back and will be better for them. Will settle back but will be hitting the line. ALL THE WINE was much better at Bathurst and his best is good enough. CALIMITY MO is also a hope. SELECTIONS: # 5 Whitsunday gets his chance to break through.

Pakenham: Race 7 @ 4:00pm

HYSTERICS wore blinkers for the first time and also had her first run on this surface when a desperately close 2nd over 1200m here recently. Can box-seat from the inside gate today and might prove too strong in the concluding stages coming off the hot pace. CHARLIE GARCON has been freshened up since failing over this trip at Sandown 27 days ago. Distance specialist who faces a massive drop in grade today and is proven on this surface so worth another chance. SCAPPARE appeals first up from a 23-week spell. Has placed 2/3 when fresh and her form last prep in much stronger races in town was very good. Looks well in after the claim. Last start winner MR HAMILTON will give them something to catch. SELECTIONS: Keen on #5 Hysterics.
