Flemington: Race 7 @ 4:10pm

Not as much speed as we might expect for a race of this quality. Vega Magic is prominent on the far side and Redzel can control the pace on the stand side. IMPENDING can tag Redzel throughout here. Got back and powered home first up at Randwick behind In Her Time and given that he was conceding her race fitness there we can expect to see him take the most improvement from that run. Formline looks very solid. REDZEL won the Everest on the same day and continued his fantastic run of current form. VEGA MAGIC was very plain at Moonee Valley but he ran a cracking race behind Redzel in the Everest without any luck and his Memsie win prior was high class. Horse to beat if bouncing back to his top. SELECTIONS: Keen to have something on the fresh horse #6 Impending from #2 and #3.

$6.50 is Impending’s current price.

With Ladbrokes Odds Boost however, $7.50 is available.

Rosehill: Race 5 @ 2:30pm

Down to a field of six with two key scratchings of Stonebrook and I Am Serious. Intueri is clearly the main beneficiary of these scratchings. He’s found a few lengths with the Blinkers going on. He won at Canterbury two back and almost went back to back there ten days ago. He’s only lightly-raced and looks a lot more progressive than anything else in this field. Miss Dubois was making late ground first up. She’ll be fitter and has a good second up record. Mortar Platoon can gallop when he wants to. He’s just so inconsistent though. He’d be hard to beat on his Randwick run two starts ago. Be Like Dad next. Ran second at Canterbury last start. He holds minor claims in a thin race. SELECTIONS: Everything has just fallen perfectly for Intueri to work through his grades so #6 from #7, #1 and #5.

Doomben: Race 2 @ 1:18pm (AEDST)

Solid tempo with Miss Exfactor the most likely to push forward and take up the lead. MISS EXFACTOR returned okay when third at Ipswich before leading all the way to win over 1200m at the Gold Coast last start in a handy race. Drawn to find the lead without too much trouble in this and looks the one they have to beat. DAZZLING RED has come back well this campaign, winning on both occasions, the most recent in easier at Beaudesert. Open to further improvement and should run well again in this field with Jeff Lloyd on board. ZUKAZ looks best of the rest having won 2/3 this campaign. SELECTIONS: Siding with #2 Miss Exfactor straight out from #4 and #3.

Morphettville: Race 2 @ 1:41pm (AEDST)

Set To Sparkle looks to cross to lead the small field. SET TO SPARKLE is showing good promise having won two of her three career runs including a 4L romp at Balaklava last start. That was her first try at this distance and she has good upside. Looks tough to beat. FREEDOM ROAD has hit the line well to win her last two starts at this course and distance. Her record at both is impressive so rates as a major danger. OPTIMIZE fought on well when runner up here last start and could be nearing a win while SUPER CRUNCH has claims off a last-start placing. SELECTIONS: Backing the progressive #4 Set To Sparkle to win again from #3, #1 and #5.

Ascot: Race 7 @ 7:50pm (AEDST)

GATTING was very good first up in the Northerly Stakes before having no luck in the Northam Cup last start. Steps up to a more suitable trip and the engagement of the Wizard is a decent push. Rates clear on best form and is a noted flier at this track. Hard to beat. FALCON CREST was on the improve in the Northam Cup last start and has to be respected stepping up in trip. The fact Pike jumps off, not ideal though. Last start winner SHINTA MANI the next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #4 Gatting from #3 and #9.

R7 FLEMINGTON 11 November 2017
Darley Classic , 1200m
Race Synopsis: Redzel took his imposing record to six successive victories in taking out this Group One sprint. Having his first run since winning The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on 14 October, he was smartly away and immediately took the lead, racing closest to the rails on the Grandstand side. Kerrin McEvoy was able to steady the early tempo but ran along on passing the 800m. He then safely held his opposition to score another impressive victory, his second at Group One level. Terravista, racing in blinkers for the first time showed a return to form. Having his second run this preparation, he settled in last place of the group on the Grandstand side, improved nicely between runners to challenge at the 100m. He then fought gamely for a very good second, beaten just under a length. Impending raced outside of the leader and eventual winner and fought on particularly well for a very good third. Chautauqua was near last of the Grandstand side runners, went to fifth of that group at the 100m and kept fighting on well for (2.6 lengths) fourth, failing to produce his renowned brilliant finishing burst. Clearly Innocent was in the middle of the Grandstand side ground and ran on really well for (2.8 lengths) fifth, just in advance of Rock Magic who did best of the Flat side runners in hold on well for (3.6 lengths) sixth.
