Winx Horseform yet again proved herself a champion, as if it was necessary, with one of her most brilliant wins, her 16th in succession. She was a bit slow to move, was last early on, but Hugh Bowman soon improved her position when the pace was so moderate, to race back in fourth place, with cover, travelling comfortably despite the Heavy 10 track. She cruised up (wide out) at the home turn, raced clear nearing the 200m and then drew right away to score effortlessly.

Three-time Group One winner Le Romain Horseform had a good trip behind the leader (Leebaz), briefly got to the front at the 300m before being overwhelmed by Winx and then battling on for a distant second.

The five-time Group One winner Chautauqua Horseform settled back in second last place, got through on the inner at the home turn, went to a distant fourth at the 200m and then battled on well for third, some nine length behind the winner.
