Shillelagh Horseform, who had previously raced with success in New Zealand, broke through well for her first stakes win in taking out this Group Three race. Now with the Chris Waller stable and having her fourth run this preparation, she settled back in tenth place in the 13-horse field (three wide with cover) before fanning deep at the home turn. She then sprinted well, challenged at the 100m and finished too well to score quite impressively, appreciating the return to firm racing conditions.

The favourite Daysee Doom Horseform began well and settled nicely outside the leader (Sweet Redemption). She moved up well to take the lead at the 200m and briefly looked the winner but she could not hold off the late-closing winner and then held on for second after running a bold race.

Godolphin’s Kinshachi Horseform settled in sixth place (wide), put in a run at the 300m and kept fighting on well to take the minor placing putting up a sound effort.

Of the others, second favourite Artistry Horseform raced in seventh place, between runners, and was blocked at a vital stage in the straight before finishing an untested (2.7 lengths) seventh.
