An upset winner of this race last year, Harlem Horseform  repeated the dose and at similar odds to get the decision again, just his fifth win (third in Australia) and fourth stakes.

He settled into a beautiful trail in third (rails) past the 1600m and lobbed along a little more than a length from the lead. There was no change at the 1000m but at the 600m jockey Jamie Kah moved off the fence and turning in was poised to challenge.

He was co-second at the 300m, did not appear to be making any impression at the 200m but rallied, levelled up at the 100m then stretched his neck inside the 50m to get the decision narrowly.

Shillelagh Horseform  was game in defeat, worse than midfield at the 1000m, improved from the 600m and was widest turning in. Under a hard ride she caught the leaders at the 200m and then fought it out, stride for stride with the winner, just losing out.

Trap For Fools Horseform  carted them along in front to the 500m, was caught, led again soon after then kept fighting all the way to the line for third. So Si Bon Horseform  pulled out wide from the 350m and kept on strongly to the line for fourth.
