Advancing to 1600m here brought out the best in talented colt Castelvecchio Horseform, who was impressive in taking out this Group 1 feature, his third win in five starts.

He began well and settled back in fifth place, tracking a solid tempo. He moved up nicely to turning for home, hit the front at the 100m and then went on to win well, running the 1600m out strongly and in quick time (1:33.31).

Loving Gaby Horseform raced in second place, tracking a quick pace. She set out after the leader on turning for home and kept fighting gamely for a good second.

Lady Lupino Horseform went to the front as expected but raced keenly, setting a fast pace. She held her lead until nearing the 100m and did well under the circumstances in holding on for third.

Fortress Command Horseform raced in third place and kept battling on nicely for (3.8 lengths) fourth.
