Jockey Jo Bowditch got his day off to a good start when he rode the third time starter Duchess Grace to success in the opening event of 1000 metres on Saturday.

Jockey Jo Bowditch got his day off to a good start when he rode the third time starter Duchess Grace to success in the opening event of 1000 metres on Saturday.

Being under the care of Lloyd Kennewell who was not on course o see his charge win, Duchess Grace came from the middle of the field to finish over the top of the early leaders.

Unfair Dismissal made it two wins in succession when he took out the 1250 metre second race.


Having the services of Melbourne hoop Luke Currie the Tony McEvoy trained Unfair Dismissal was well placed.

The Tony McEvoy and Luke Currie combination brought up a race to race double when Aspect took out the 1300 metre third race.

Coming off a last start seventh on this track Aspect led all the way.

Luke Currie brought up a perfect hat-trick when Hussy glow took out the 1300 metre fourth race.

A Patrick Payne charge Hussy’s Glow came from well back with a withering run over the concluding stages.

Trainer Chris Bieg and apprentice Anna Jordsjo were well pleased when Temps Voleur led all the way to win the fifth event which was run over 1950 metres.

Hoop Joe Bowditch brought up one and a half winners for the day when his mount Arkham Knight dead-heated with the apprentice Raquel Clark ridden So You Too in the 1250 metre sixth race.

Being under the care of John Macmillan Arkham Knight came from well back while the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas charge So You Too was well placed.

Racing first up after a spell Barood gave Naracoorte trainer Sue Murphy success in the 1000 metre seventh race.

Having the services of Paul Gatt Barood was well placed in winning his fourth race from twenty-four starts.

The Danielle Wilson prepared Pale Ale brought up successive wins when he took out the final event of 1400 metres.

Having the services of Emily Finnegan Pale Ale led all the way to bring up his fourth win from twenty-eight starts.
