Trevor Sutherland Trains The Card At Carrathool

Leading Wagga trainer Trevor Sutherland has entered the record books after training every winner on a six-race program at Carrathool in south-west NSW on Saturday.

The premiership winning trainer described the feat as a special day.

“It was a great day – just one of those lucky ones,” Sutherland told the Daily Advertiser.

“It’s just a special day in my life – something I’ll be able to tell my grandkids.

“It’s a place I love going to and I’ve had some great memories there.”

Apprentice Megan Taylor rode five of Sutherland’s six winners including Mr Sommerville, who gave the trainer his fourth victory in the Carrathool Cup.

Taylor’s winners for Sutherland were Yawkey Way ($3.60), Spare Parts ($3), Benno’s Boy ($2.60), Mr Sommerville ($4) and Dream On Stan ($2.50). Sutherland’s other winner My Friend Albert ($4) was ridden by apprentice Stacey Metcalfe.

Sutherland said he has set Mr Sommerville for the Adrian Ledger Memorial (2400m) at the Albury Cup meeting on March 24.
