Connections made the decision to retire Glass Harmonium Horseform after a post-race examination following the Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) found him to lame in the off foreleg.

Glass Harmonium’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes effort concluded what had been a disappointing preparation by his standards with the saving grace running second behind All Too Hard Horseform in the Futurity Stakes upon resuming.

The Verglas entire exits racing with five wins and nine minor placings from 32 starts.

A multiple Group winning galloper, the jewel in Glass Harmonium’s crown is the 2011 Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) and went within a neck of defending the race when second during the 2012 renewal behind Alcopop Horseform.

As well as his latest placing behind All Too Hard in the Futurity Stakes (1400m), Glass Harmonium recorded Group 1 placings in the 2011 Doomben Cup (2020m) and the 2011 Turnbull Stakes (2000m).

Stallion duties now beckon for the seven-year-old with connections fielding offers from stud farms in both Australia and New Zealand.
