Vrc St Leger 3 , 2800m
Race Synopsis: The John Moloney-trained three-year-old Dornier put up a strong staying performance in winning here, advancing to 2800m to record his second win in ten starts to date. He settled in last place in the 11-horse field, moved up widest of all rounding the home turn, took the lead on passing the 300m and then fought back to win in a photo, putting up a game effort. The favourite Parthesia settled nicely in sixth place on the rails, but was held up in a packing field at the home turn. She eased deeper and into clear running at the 300m and then ran on well for a late-closing second, looking somewhat unlucky. High Mode raced near the tail of the field, on the rails, switched deeper at the 300m and came with a late run to take the minor placing, staging up a good staying run.
