In a surprise result, the eight-year-old-gelding Anton En Avant Horseform , at odds of $151, scored his first stakes success in 53 starts in taking out this Group Three race.

He settled back in tenth place, tracking a solid pace, before improving between runners nearing the home turn. He switched to the inner at the 200m and finished too well to score by a half-length.

Lovani Horseform  was handily placed about fifth before moving up well (deep) coming to the home turn. She challenged at the 200m and kept fighting well for a good second.

Rising Red Horseform  had a nice trip in third place, just behind the leaders, got a split to hit the front at the home turn and then battled on well for a close up third white the favourite Goathland Horseform  was trapped very deep all the way and dropped out prior to the home turn and failed to beat a runner home, finishing (19 lengths) last.
