Trained by Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards for Te Akau Racing, Age Of Fire Horseform will depart for Sydney next week to join stablemate Melody Belle.

Melody Belle Horseform runs in Saturday’s G2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.

Age Of Fire will trial at Taupo on Thursday to top off his preparation for the $400,000 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

“All going well it will then be on to the Randwick and Rosehill Guineas,” Richards said. “He’ll then head toward the ATC Derby if his form warrants it.

“He is a very exciting colt and we’re looking forward to Sydney with him.”

Te Akau also has NZ 2000 Guineas winner Embellish Horseform in Melbourne with the Savabeel colt to open his Australian Guineas campaign this weekend in the G3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) at Flemington.

With Embellish and Age Of Fire racing on alternative weekends in Melbourne and Sydney stable jockey Opie Bosson will be able to guide the pair in their opening Australian races.

Age Of Fire, by champion sire Fastnet Rock, boosted his stallion profile when he won the G1 Levin Classic (1600m) at his latest appearance.

He has subsequently been secured by New Zealand’s Cambridge Stud to join their stallion roster at the conclusion of his racing career.

Te Akau principal David Ellis confirmed the deal with Cambridge Stud’s incoming owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay.

Embellish will also stand at Cambridge Stud, to be taken over by the Lindsays from Sir Patrick Hogan in April, at the end of his racing days.

“With his pedigree, being by Fastnet Rock out of a Galileo mare, I expect Age Of Fire to be a sensation at stud,” Ellis said.

“As an athlete he is one of the very best. He is as good a moving horse as you will ever see.

“He floats over ground with a terrific action, has a superb attitude and most importantly he possesses a real will to win.”
