The $10 million sprint explodes on to the world stage this weekend as Sydney’s own racing and entertainment spectacular in the Spring.

The huge raceday also features a special guest performance by multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo in the Theatre of the Horse.

Fans will be able to enjoy the exclusive 60 minute concert, Derulo’s only appearance in Australia in 2017, as part of their admission to the racecourse.

Throughout the day, expert advice on the full day’s racing is on offer in the TAB Punters Pavilion, overlooking the Theatre of the Horse on the Rose Garden Lawn. The fully covered and free marquee has uninterrupted views of the horses parading and will feature betting tips and fun throughout the afternoon ahead of the The TAB Everest, race eight, at 4.15pm.

The Fashion Chute presented by Vogue will carry a total prize pool valued at over $20,000 for the ladies and gents including; two fully flexible return flights from Sydney to any one of Emirates world-wide destinations and a Longines timepiece.

Registration opens at 10.45am on the Octagonal Lawn.

Trackside there will be complimentary makeup touch-ups by hay-u, a dry bar by Toni&Guy and the SHIEKE lounge, all on the Octagonal Lawn to keep racegoers looking fresh throughout the day.

The Family Lawn will be a covered space for families to enjoy their race day with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained including pony rides, face painters and jumping castle.

In the lead up to the feature race, trainers and jockeys of the 12 runners will be presented to the crowd in the Theatre of the Horse before Australian music sensation Samantha Jade performs the national anthem trackside.

All eyes will then be focused on the richest race on the Australian calendar, the $10 million TAB Everest where twelve slot holders have bought their way into the race and elected horses to represent them.

The ten lucky winners in the ATC’s ‘Race In The Everest’ competition will be trackside cheering home ATC TAB Everest representative Brave Smash Horseform to claim their share in a $120,000 prize pool.

Five people were selected on both TAB Epsom Day and Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day to join the Australian Turf Club and Australian Bloodstock in the ownership of the Darren Weir-trained entire for the $10 million TAB Everest and will watch their horse from the winning post for the race.

The Japanese import will wear blinkers for the first time and will be partnered by internationally recognised jockey Jamie Spencer.

Gary Portelli’s She Will Reign Horseform leads the market at $4.80 TAB Fixed Odds following her impressive win in the Group 1 Moir Stakes on 29 September.

Vega Magic Horseform ($5.00 TAB Fixed Odds), trained by David & Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig, will look to claim his fifth consecutive win and is the shorter priced runner of the three gallopers representing the stable.

Last start winner Redkirk Warrior Horseform ($9.00 TAB Fixed Odds), Longines Golden Slipper placegetter Tulip Horseform ($51.00 TAB Fixed Odds) will also represent slot holders in the race.

Three-time Group 1 TJ Smith winner Chautauqua Horseform for Hawkes Racing appears on the third line of betting at $5.50 TAB Fixed Odds. The grey flash has won eight times in his career over the 1200m.

All valid pre-purchased tickets and ATC Members cards include travel on Sydney train, ferry and bus services to ensure a hassle free arrival and departure from Royal Randwick.

Gates Open at 10.00am with the first race at 12.05pm.

Free car parking is available at the racecourse and buses will run between Eddy Avenue at Central Station and Royal Randwick racecourse.

The Tab Everest , 1200m
Race Synopsis: Redzel was quickly away and Kerrin McEvoy then eased him to settled outside Houtzen as that filly drove through from her inside barrier (one) to lead. Redzel then travelled comfortably a quite a quick tempo (first 600m in 33.90) before dashing clear nearing the 200m. He then fought back strongly to score a strong win in a time of 1:08.36, which was 0.10 slower than In Her Time ran in taking out the consolation race, the Sydney Stakes (1200m). Favourite Vega Magic was eased from his wide barrier (ten), settled in eighth place (three wide with cover), was under pressure on straightening, responded from the 200m and then ran on well to take a good second. Brave Smash was eased from the start by Jamie Spencer, was ninth early on before improving along the rails to be seventh at the home turn. He got a split going to second at the 100m and then fought on well for a good third. It was also an excellent ride by Spencer. Chautauqua settled in last place in the 12-horse field, Brenton Avdulla stuck to the rails at the home turn, improved to eighth at the 200m and then came with a strong late run for an eye-catching (1.5 lengths) fourth. Tulip raced in tenth place, improved to fifth at the 200m after getting a good inside run at the turn and then held on well for (2.6 lengths) fifth. English was eased from her outside barrier (12), remained in second last place to the home turn and made good ground over the closing stages for (2.8 lengths) sixth, her difficult barrier proving costly.
