Newcastle: Race 3 @ 1:50pm
BASE CAMP has improved with each performance to date and now appears well placed to break through for a deserved win. Should get an uncontested lead early and rates highly on his effort at this track last start. Hard to beat. WAIHEKE ISLAND caught the eye late at Taree last start when finishing third behind Lots Of Diamonds. Open to good improvement off the back of that and looms as a major threat. BALLERINA simply got too far back first up, when working home fairly late at Scone over 1300m. More than capable on best form and remains under strong notice with the Gun engaged. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Base Camp.

Seymour: Race 5 @ 3pm
JOCASTA is a consistent mare with top two finishes at seven of her last eight outings including a win at this distance two starts back. Only needs to hold that form to go close in this. AGHNA disappointed last time but could be worth another chance based on her previous efforts including a Corowa win and Adelaide placing. CHARLIE GARCON didn't have the best of luck when placed last start and had won at this course before that. SELECTIONS: Backing the ever-consistent #5 Jocasta - this looks a winnable assignment from #4 and #1.
Pakenham: Race 2 @ 6:30pm>
All Eez and Peruggia have the speed to lead these. ALL EEZ has been a model of consistency this time in and finds a suitable race here with a senior rider aboard . Sat on the speed and was gallant when fourth here two back before a similar performance at Echuca more recently. Stays at the 1200m here and despite the slight rise in class this doesn't look overly strong. PROPOSAL was well supported on debut but failed to deliver, running ninth. No doubt a better horse than that and the step up in trip could spark some improvement. SEBEAT on debut creates plenty of interest here without a public appearance. Mick Price does the training and with the Blinkers on here shouldn't be underestimated. SUGGESTED PLAY: All Eez straight out.
Mackay: Race 6 @ 4:35pm
HELLUVA HOFFA won twice at the back of the last prep and has placed twice since resumption in a bit stronger than this. He’s ready and clearly rates the one to beat.
CONCA DEL SOGNO got back FU but came hard to record a comfortable win in a Rocky 60. Fitter and he keeps the claim and may sit closer to the speed today. Looms as the main danger with LAMERICAN who has not been too far away in recent times. Drawn well in barrier 2 and can feature in the finish: SELECTIONS: #7 Helluva Hoffa for the win.
Geraldton: Race 7 @ 4:45 (AEDT)
Scotsdale and Mister Panon from wide draws should burn across and take responsibility. VITALISM came with a well-timed run to get the cash here last start. Continues to build an imposing record at the track and dropping sharply in the weights here should set a decent standard. MISTER PANON was never in the hunt here most recently. Win prior to that gives him a strong case and despite the weight must be considered. Is a winner of ten races so on that alone goes in everything. NULLAKI off a let-up has definite claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Vitalism.
