Trainer Darren Weir has the G2 Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on January 26 as a first-up choice or he may prefer to wait for the G1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield On February 10.

Brave Smash Horseform has had all his four starts in Australia over 1200m and is yet to finish out of the placings.

Imported by Australian Bloodstock, Brave Smash started off with a flashing run for second at Caulfield in August before winning the Listed Chandler Macleod Stakes at Moonee Valley.

The 5YO entire then finished second in the Listed Testa Rossa at Moonee Valley before heading to Sydney where he finished third in the $10 million Everest at Randwick in October before a spell.

Australian Bloodstock's Jamie Lovett said the aim is to win a Group One race with Brave Smash that will secure his future as a stud prospect in Australia.

Lovett said several studs had shown an interest in Brave Smash but there was no rush to complete a breeding deal.

"We've had some inquiry on him but commercially it's in our best interests to wait as there's a fair bit of upside to the horse,” Lovett said,

"There's Group form all around him so we're looking forward to seeing what he can do. He's a proper horse so we’ll keep an open mind on him."

Brave Smash was acquired by Australian Bloodstock after recording two wins and five placings from 14 starts in Japan.

His two Japanese wins came at 1500m and 1600m, he was G3 placed over 1600m and was tested up to 2400m in G1 company.

With that background Weir is keen to test him over at least 1600m this autumn.
