Scone: Race 7 @ 4:00pm

Lubiton prominent with perhaps Kingsguard. NEW TIPPERARY produced a genuine head turner first up over 1400m at Randwick last start. Was winding up well and should thrive up to the mile. Second up record is also fantastic. DUCA VALENTINOIS was doing his best work late in the Hawkesbury Gold Cup. Won this race 12 months ago. Going well enough to suggest he can defend his title. KINGSGUARD was rewarded for his consistency when winning the Hawkesbury Gold Cup last start. Appeals in a similar sort of race. SEDANZER is capable of so much more than what she produced first up in the Godolphin Crown. Keep in mind along with PELETHRONIUS off two straight placings at Doomben. SELECTIONS: Keen on #4 New Tipperary from #1, #2 and #9.

Geelong: Race 1 @ 12.35pm

Lankan Pharoah and Royal Rue are going to be up there early. MAGNIKKA is third up here. Sound fresh and then ran an improved race last time out when placed at Cranbourne. Sets her up to peak here third up and be hard to beat. LANKAN PHARAOH is first up from a long break. Well up to winning here if ready to go. Betting could prove informative. JUNGLE ROSE ran a good race last time. Closed the race off like a coming winner. Just needs some luck in running. SELECTIONS: Backing Magnikka.

Naracoorte: Race 4 @ 2:35pm (AEST)

HASTA LA BOUNTY will peak and has been racing promisingly in stronger. Looks well-placed to break through. LITTLE BRITT placed resuming for the new yard running favourite. Draws low and has more to give. BEL MOSHE is an improver who gets her chance from the handy draw. HARBOUR EXPRESS comes off a string of placings and the wide gate may not hinder in these conditions. SELECTIONS: # 4 Hasta La Bounty is ready and punting she will handle the wet.

Coffs Harbour: Race 7 @ 3:40pm

TARBERT made an encouraging return when he hit the line well for second at Grafton. His lone career win came when second up so expect to him to progress. Strong winning chance. ACADEMY HILL was good when runner up last start and has drawn the rails. Right in this. RISPETTA could improve second up. SELECTIONS: #5 Tarbert to win off a good resuming effort from #7 and #2.

Ipswich: Race 8 @ 4:07pm

Zoutano looks the most likely to push forward and lead. BEAU ISA mixed his form last campaign in tougher company and returns today. Possesses a good record when fresh previously and also at the course and over this trip. Well suited here today despite looking for more ground and can get the job done. SUPER SUAVE has been racing in tougher of late and will appreciate the drop in grade. Still a long time between wins and looks under the odds. PROLIFIC BELLE also returns and from barrier 3 should get a nice run throughout and be right in the mix. SELECTIONS: At the odds happy to play #3 Beau Isa each way from #2 and #4

Albany: Race 4 @ 5:00pm (AEST)

SPIN DA WHEELS has returned in great order and chases the hat-trick following another strong on-speed display. Racing in career best form and only looks to have to repeat that level of performance to be right in the finish again. Clearly the one to beat. SECRET MINX was no match for the latter last start, however her performance still held plenty of merit and she has to be respected with the added aid of the claim. FRIAR'S GIFT the next in line racing back against this grade. SELECTIONS: See no reason to jump off #2 Spin Da Wheels.

Cranbourne Race 8 @ 9:30pm

LINGUIST will be better for the first-up run in stronger and wins at best. Lane rides and will sit the mare handy and she’s placed on the slow and second-up. NACAR resumes for Weir and brings strong form. He’s sharp fresh and expect a bold run. MUCCINO was better last time and is well in the mix. SELECTIONS: #8 Linguist looks ready.

R7 SCONE 11 May 2018
Darley Scone Cup , 1600m
Race Synopsis: Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained mare and favourite Sedanzer, who was having her second run this preparation, scored nicely, her seventh win and her first at stakes level in 16 starts. She settled nicely in sixth place, behind a reasonable tempo (first 1000m 61.55) before tracking up well nearing the home turn. She raced to the front at the 100m and then fought back to score well. Duca Valentinois raced in eighth place, followed the eventual winner from the 600m, challenged at the 100m and battled well under his top weight for second after conceding 5.5kg to the winner. Kingsguard raced outside the leader (Lubiton) to the home turn and fought on to hold the minor placing. Second favourite New Tipperary raced in fifth place, between runners, but was held up for clear running in the straight and went to the post an untested fourth, beaten just under three lengths.
