Melbourne jockey Luke Currie made the trip to ride the filly in her 1050m trial where she exerted her class to win by a comfortable margin.

Allowed to settle midfield, Lyre Horseform pulled her way up the leaders three wide at the 400m. When called on she responded in style to forge clear over the last 200m and sprint strongly to the line under a good hold.

The Godolphin-owned filly had no trouble handling to the clockwise direction to score by two lengths in 1.05.90 on a soft 7 surface.

Her win came after the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly Catch Me Horseform got her Golden Slipper bid back on track when she won her heat after returning to Sydney from her disappointing Blue Diamond Stakes performance.

She trialled without blinkers and looked to be back to the form that saw her win her first two starts at Randwick and Caulfield.

Catch Me won her heat by a half length in 1.06.3.

Impressive Melbourne filly Loving Gaby completed a treble of trial wins for Golden Slipper candidates when she won her 740m heat in fine style.

Loving Gaby Horseform, a Caulfield winner on debut before finishing an unlucky sixth in the Blue Diamond, travelled sweetly outside the leader before extending easily to run away for a soft win by 2.25 lengths in 44.4 seconds.

South Australian star Free Of Debt then showed he was right in the mix for the Golden Slipper when he ran away with his heat over 740m, sitting four and five wide to the turn wide before powering clear in the last 200m to win by 3.25 lengths in 44.64 seconds.

Free Of Debt Horseform, winner of his first two starts at Morphettville and Flemington before finishing third in the Blue Diamond, is expected to be a late entry for the Golden Slipper before next Monday’s deadline.
