Sydney Stakes 3U , 1200m
Race Synopsis: First emergency for The Everest (1200m), In Her Time gained consolation for missing a start in that race by taking this out in good style after a very good Corey Brown ride. She enjoyed a nice trip in fifth place (between horses) behind a strong tempo, went to third and into the clear on straightening, got to the front at the 50m and then held on to win well in quick time (1:08.26). Impending, having his first start since winning the Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1350m) in June, settled in second last place in the 14-horse field. He improved between horses on straightening, but was still back about eighth at the 300m before running on strongly for a late-closing second in a very smart first up effort. Ball Of Muscle raced outside the leader (Jungle Edge) at a strong pace (first 600m 34.04), got to the front at the 200m and then kept fighting back gamely in the straight for a good third after running a bold race. The Monstar held on well for (2.1 lengths) fourth while Washington Heights ran on well from 11th at the home turn for (2.5 lengths) fifth.
