TAB Everest attracts international broadcasters

The TAB Everest has attracted strong interest from international broadcasters – including Fox Sports in the US – who are beaming the world’s richest race on turf to a large global audience.

A total of 69 countries will be taking Sky Racing’s ground-breaking coverage of the TAB Everest race via Tabcorp’s international operations with the race set to be shown across six continents.

The $13m sprint, and the rest of the Randwick card, will be shown via Sky Racing International in the key markets of New Zealand, Singapore, US, Canada, UK, Germany and South Africa.

Other countries taking coverage of the race include France, Malaysia and Dubai.

The coverage for overseas audiences will be anchored by Sky’s Greg Radley, Ron Dufficy and Lizzie Jelfs and feature in-depth form analysis and preview coverage from the mounting yard.

US racing broadcaster TVG will be broadcasting live from Randwick with host Candice Hare and Sky Racing’s Jason Witham. Fox Sports in the US will also be taking the race for the first time.

Darren Pearce, Tabcorp’s Executive General Manager Media & International, said the booming interest from abroad was testament to the race’s global appeal and the outstanding promotion by Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club.

“We are thrilled to be able to carry coverage of the TAB Everest to whole new communities of racing fans across the world,’’ he said.

“The growing stature of the TAB Everest on the global stage has ensured strong demand for the race from international audiences.

“Sky Racing is proud to provide the best coverage of The TAB Everest through its flagship Thoroughbred Central channel and to distribute it to as wide a possible audience through our international partnerships.”
