Caulfield: Race 7 @ 4:15pm

PREVAILING WINDS coped with a strongly run race last time and was very strong on the line over the 1100m here. He was dominant at 1200m before that, beating a small field but posting a high rating, and this looks an ideal race for him now. Going to be hard to beat. MANOLO BLAHNIQ has been good in both runs this time in and this looks a nice race for him now up to 1200m and back in class. Poor winning record but very capable. EPIC MOMENT won well last time and is in the mix on that. Stablemate Cao Cao can improve with the blinkers on second up. SELECTIONS: Backing #11 Prevailing Winds off a strong race last time.

Gilgandra : Race 5 @ 1:37pm

Prattler, Return Journey and Shilopath look the pacesetters. OOCUMBA broke the maiden in nice fashion at Narromine latest. She should set the speed again and prove hard to get past. Still has plenty of scope racing horses who have reached there mark. PRATTLER has the race experience. He gets in well with the 4kg claim and should prove competitive. WIDE EYED for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #5 Oocumba for the win.

Gawler: Race 3 @ 2.35pm (AEDT)

FRANCE'S BOY worked to the line well to finish second when resuming last start. Likely to be better for that outing and should find a good position in transit from the inside gate. It may be worth forgiving the last run of QUIVERS as she had strong form before that. Has won two of three attempts at the distance and has also won here before. PATCH HERO returns to a course where she has won twice before including over this trip two starts back. MYSTIFIED is consistent and won his only try at this distance. SELECTIONS: #2 France's Boy for the win second up.

Murwillumbah: Race 7 @ 4:20pm

Star Rock, Baraaj and Legs Unbarred look the pacesetters. STAR ROCK won with plenty in hand at Ipswich last time out. Never easy progressing straight out of maiden grade but has sharp upside and should take beating. Lloyd rides and there is plenty to like jumping from the inside draw. MALMOOSA looks the testing material. She has a good overall record and despite being below average of late should improve here. Back in trip ideal. SPANISH HURRICANE should have admirers. SELECTIONS: Keen on #5 Star Rock.

Albany: Race 1 @ 5:00pm (AEDT)

DESERT THORN has improved with each performance this time in and now appears set to peak racing fourth up. Closed off very well at Narrogin last start and looks to only have to repeat that level of performance to be right in the finish again. Drawn well and should prove hard to beat with Pateman aboard. CALBANESCO displayed good ability on debut at this track when finishing a close second over 1050m. Open to good improvement off the back of that and looms as a major threat. MYARENA the next in line. SELECTIONS: Keen on #1 Desert Thorn to break through.
