Canberra: Race 2 @ 12:20pm

CONSOLING displayed sharp improvement at this track last start when only narrowly beaten at this C&D. Sure to appreciate the drop back in grade and Reith appears a key booking. Likely to get back from the wide draw, but still should prove very hard to beat. IMANACHEEVA hasn't been far off the mark in recent efforts and appears more than capable on best form. Nisbet sticks and he looms as a major threat. CASINO'S JEWELS disappointed last start, but is worth another chance and appears the next in line with Penza aboard. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Consoling back in maiden company.

Rockhampton: Race 7 @ 3:47pm

Csardas the most likely to push forward and lead. MISS MIAO comes off a second placing over 1300m at Townsville last start and that form reads well for this. Has won when third up previously and from the good draw can go one better today. NOW ASK ME returned well when runner up before going on to win over 1100m last time out. Up to the 1300m for the first time and is worth keeping very safe. KOPELLA resumed well with a win last start and is next best. SELECTIONS: #1 Miss Miao for the win.

Taree: Race 8 @ 4:15pm

I AM AWESOME is a promising mare putting together a good record. Won first up before a good second at the provincials last time. Has won two from three so is suited back to country grade. Won her only previous third up run so can peak. SPINNING GOLD was placed last start and could give a sight if he gets an easy time upfront. SELECTIONS: #6 I Am Awesome to win dropping back to country grade.

Swan Hill: Race 8 @ 4:30pm

ORAKEI OVERLORD just missed resuming at Bendigo and then was far too good this grade at Wodonga as favourite. The mile suits and he just has to manage the conditions. TRISTANO was just beaten first-up and has strong back-form and will go close with Meech using the low draw. ACCREDITATION just missed second-up for Weir and a repeat would have him right in it. ROSEBERRY STREET peaks and can add meat to the multiples. SELECTIONS: #2 Orakei Overlord has upside and can repeat.
