Today’s Horse Racing Tips – May 16

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on May 16.

Five Australian TAB meetings are held today at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Sunshine Coast, Murray Bridge and Ascot.

Sandown: Race 7 @ 3:55pm

Lord Tennyson should use the inside draw. Think Babe comes across and Mr Storm might come with him to look to get in. THINK BABE ran a top race first up behind a sharp winner and then went to Warrnambool and just peaked on his run in what was a good competitive race. He can be fitter again third up and he has the talent to come on and win this. KACHING also has the talent to win races at this level. Racing well and the formlines around him are looking solid. 1400m here is ideal. MR STORM was just fair last time. Softer race now and still on the rise. SELECTIONS: Backing Think Babe. Save Kaching.

Warwick Farm: Race 2 @ 1:25pm

Pembroke Castle led last start. May go forward again. MICKEY BLUE EYES drops in grade after a strong debut at Hawkesbury 18 days ago. Will have taken valuable race experience and fitness from the run. Can go one better. SEPARATED worth consideration. Was rolled as favourite on debut. Market expectations aside however, the run possessed merit. PEMBROKE CASTLE second up also in the mix. Ran fourth on resuming behind his stablemate The Autumn Sun who could be well above average. SELECTIONS: Straight out #1 Mickey Blue Eyes from #11 and #3.

Murray Bridge: Race 4 @ 2:25pm (AEST)

Inward Bound may lead with Betcher. LIFE'S REWARD just missed second-up in town making sharp improvement off the placing. Finds easier and clearly looks the one with the claim for a form apprentice. Tricky away from him. BETCHER seeks the hat-trick but has done all his recent racing on the dirt. Going very well but has to bring the form to the grass. CIRCUS DANCER won a 58 at Swan Hill the most recent and she’s in the mix with the weight drop. SNIP OF MAGIC gets a 4kg claim and is well in the market early. SELECTIONS: He hasn’t won for an age but #10 Life’s Reward rates to salute.

Sunshine Coast: Race 6 @ 3:28pm

Omnia Marka Tayada looks the most likely to push forward and take up the lead. KAY KAY BOY is undefeated from two runs in Australia winning his most recent over 1300m at Toowoomba. Form in France for previous stable was good and he should relish the step up to 1600m today. Rates well in this company and looks the one to beat again. TIME LORD has placed in his last two outings in NZ and steps out for his first run in Australia. Goes well over the mile and looks a danger. THE PERPETRATOR is best of the rest off four placings. SELECTIONS: #5 Kay Kay Boy for the win from #14 and #4.

Ascot: Race 3 @ 4:24pm (AEST)

RED ARMY went to the paddock in great form and remains a big watch fresh for Team Williams. Two trials in the lead up were very good and while he will be better over further, he is more than capable of sprinting well fresh. Pike obviously a key booking and he should prove very hard to hold out. KEEPER'S TALE continued his good run of form last start when finishing second behind Pearls And Prawns. Well placed after the claim and looms as a major threat. GUNS OF NAVARONE continues to race well and appears the next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Red Army in his return.
