The $1million sprint at Morphettville on Saturday features defending champion Black Heart Bart Horseform who has drawn barrier 2.

Clearly the class horse of the race, Black Heart Bart is the $3.50 favourite for Saturday’s Group 1 Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville.

If successful on Saturday, Black Heart Bart will become the first horse to claim consecutive Goodwood’s since Musket Belle achieved the feat in 1911/12.

The only other horse to have achieved the feat is Mostyn who did it in 1894-95.

Standing in the way of this rare double is Secret Agenda Horseform who claimed her first Group 1 a fortnight ago at Morphettville when taking out the Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m).

The Mick Price-trained mare is considered a $7.00 chance to claim the Robert Sangster Stakes-Goodwood double, following in the footsteps of the great Black Caviar Horseform (2012) and Platelet Horseform (2013).

Vega Magic Horseform ($7.00) and Malaguerra ($8.50) round out the single figure chances in the anticipated capacity 20 horse field.

The Goodwood is sandwiched between a pair of Group 3’s, the first being the R A Lee Stakes (1600m).

Burning Front

Darren Weir saddles up the favourite Burning Front Horseform ($2.40) who returned to the winner’s circle at Caulfield last start.

The gelding has won six of his past seven starts.

His main opposition looks to come in the form of multiple Group winner Hooked Horseform ($3.50) off a last start win at Caulfield and in form local hope Royal Rumble Horseform ($6.50).

The Adelaide Festival Of Racing concludes with the Group 3 UBET Proud Miss Stakes (1200m).

Fuhryk

The Hayes-Dabernig-trained Fuhryk Horseform holds favouritism ($3.40) off an eye catching first up effort at the track a fortnight ago when second in the Group 2 UBET Euclase Stakes (1200m).

Fuhryk will be fitter second up and shapes as a popular option in the Get Out Stakes or for those wanting to stand one out in the final leg of the quadrella.

Value hopes in the event profile as Miss Gunpowder Horseform ($12.00) and Samara Dancer Horseform ($13.00).

Darley Goodwood 3U , 1200m
Race Synopsis: With a very good winning strike rate in Western Australia, Vega Magic started second favourite here and beat an excellent field fresh up after a 161 day break. Craig Williams had the four-yearold quickly out of barrier six and up handy with the pace early on. They sat third but moved up to challenge for the lead passing the 500m just outside the pacemaker. Into the straight he co-led then lost the lead until the 150m only to fight back and take over again near the post for a top win. Missrock was always handy, tracked the leading group three wide into the straight then went wide. She stormed to the front at the 250m and looked the winner but Vega Magic was too strong late. Casino Wizard had nowhere to go when they straightened but flew between runners to grab a good third from Secret Agenda, who got a late split two off the fence to rush into fourth when it was all over. Favourite Black Heart Bart was handy enough throughout, looked to challenge at the 250m but was out-finished, finishing 2.7 lengths seventh.
