Early Mail and Blackbook Update For March 11

Early mail and Blackbook Update for Rosehill and Flemington on March 11.

ROSEHILL March 11

RACE 3 (5): CONDOR HEROES: After producing last weekend’s upset Black Opal Stakes winner Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan has yet another high class youngster ready to turn the Golden Slipper picture on its head. This colt’s ability is well exposed as he is unbeaten in his trials and his only race start saw him finish an excellent second in the Breeders Plate at the start of the season. He looked top class winning his most recent trial by almost eight lengths and Tim Clark has given a big lead by electing to ride when he had other options in this race.

RACE 5 (9) ANTONIO GIUSEPPE: The high expectations held for this former Kiwi this autumn look justified after his impressive first-up win over 1500m at this course on February 18 when he easily beat the subsequent black type winner Gold Symphony. Ticks all the boxes again as he is unbeaten in four Rosehill starts including a victory over this trip in the spring, he has previously won second up and he remains favourably placed dropping 4kg off his first-up win.

RACE 8 (3) HE”S OUR ROKKII: Hits Sydney at the right time of his prep for the Doncaster after two sound conditioning runs in the best Melbourne company. Proved himself in Sydney last autumn with a pair of Group wins at Randwick and went on with it in the spring when he won the G1 Toorak Handicap at Caulfield. Has hit winning form when third up in the past and can produce again with expected improvement off his close up finish in the G1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 25. Good draw and a soft track don’t; harm his chances.
