Brisbane’s former skipper Tom Rockliff has been cleared to join Port Adelaide as a free agent while the Lions received pick No. 18 in the AFL national draft allowing Port Adelaide to concentrate on other available deals.

Brisbane will receive 18thselection of AFL national draft as compensation for Rockliff’s departure on a lucrative 4-year deal.

The Lions elected not to match the deal.


According to Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps the club was happy with Rockliff’s selection who had several options available to him.

He was positive of the impending harmony between the club and Rockliff in the time to come proving that the decision was the right one.

The Power have also been connected to Geelong’s Steven Motlop and former No 1 draft pick and Demon Jack Watts early in the trade season.
