Tippett after being dropped in a below par performance in round 10 has been kept out of the game by a persistent ankle injury in recent times.

According to Swans head of football Tom Harley Tippett’s condition is not serious and he should be back to train and play during the week.

Tippett, approaching the end of his fifth season at the SCG after being recruited as a star signing in 2012 has only played 70 games enduring a horrid time with injuries.

Although there is a chance that Tippett will play the seniors on Saturday if Sam Reid misses the St Kilda game, the expectation is for him to play at the NEAFL level again.

Reid also will be closely monitored by the club having a right groin injury suffered at the club’s impressive win over Greater Western Sydney.

The Swans have also re-signed the defender Lewis Melican on a three year stint after his success at the club joining in round five this season.
