- Born and raised in Melbourne's south to parents of Czechoslovakian descent


- A keen Collingwood AFL supporter and avid soccer fan who has written articles about his favourite team, Manchester United

- Grew up idolising former Australian captain Ricky Ponting

- Debuted for Victoria's second XI a week after his 17th birthday

- Scored 650 runs at 162.50 in the national under-19 championships

- Donated his under-19s player of the tournament prize - $1000 worth of cricket gear - to the primary school he attended

- Made his Sheffield Shield debut for Victoria aged 18 in 2017 but was forced to retire hurt after being struck on the head and concussed

- Knocked out again by a Sean Abbott bouncer the following summer, his seventh concussion in the space of five years

- Became ninth batsman and the first since Ponting to score a Shield double-century before the age of 21 when he plundered 243 against Western Australia earlier this season

- Spent the following two months away from Shield cricket to deal with a mental health-related issue

- Has played eight first-class games, scoring 588 runs at an average of 49.
