Tom Rogic scores for rampaging Celtic

Celtic have thrashed Partick Thistle 5-0 in the Scottish Premiership with Tom Rogic among the goalscorers.

Tom Rogic scored his 11th goal of the season as champions Celtic thrashed Partick Thistle 5-0 on Thursday in the Scottish Premiership.

The Socceroo netted the team's second goal in the 26th minute as Celtic smashed the 100-goal barrier in the hammering.

Rogic's strike is timely with Australia soon to begin preparations for next month's Confederations Cup in Russia where the Socceroos are grouped alongside Cameroon, Chile and Germany.

The playmaker faces a hectic schedule with Celtic finishing the league season against Hearts on Sunday before turning their attention to the Scottish Cup final where they meet Aberdeen.

Rogic will then report for Socceroos duty before returning to Scotland for the new season as Celtic begin their Champions League campaign.

Celtic opened the scoring in the 18th minute when striker Leigh Griffiths netted from the penalty spot.

Further goals from Rogic and Patrick Roberts killed off the game before the interval.

Brendan Rodgers' treble-chasing side then cruised through the second half and Callum McGregor and Roberts added further goals to put a more realistic complexion on the scoreline.

The champions extended their unbeaten domestic run from the start of the season to 45 games to move on to 103 points, equalling the record by the Hoops' league-winning team of 2001-02.

Celtic will be presented with the league trophy against Hearts at Parkhead on Sunday.
