Superstar back Kurtley Beale has been named in the NSW Waratahs side for their final pre-season rugby trial against Melbourne Rebels on Thursday.

Beale, who is about to begin his third stint with the Tahs, pulled out of last week's Tens tournament with an elbow injury.

Two Wallabies, halfback Nick Phipps and lock-blindside flanker Ned Hanigan are still on the injury list and won't play in Thursday's four by 20-minute quarter match at Brookvale Oval in Sydney's north.

The Tahs run-on side contains eight Wallabies including former Reds lock Rob Simmons, who will be making his NSW debut, Michael Hooper, Israel Folau and Bernard Foley.

NSW Waratahs team; Israel Folau, Alex Newsome, Curtis Rona, Kurtley Beale, Andrew Kellaway, Bernard Foley, Jake Gordon, Jed Holloway, Michael Hooper (capt), Michael Wells, Rob Simmons, Tom Staniforth, Paddy Ryan, Damien Fitzpatrick, Tom Robertson.
