Alibi gets second leg of 4yo challenge

There wasn't much chatter about him but Alibi just goes about his business and he's serious about it.

With Glen Boss in the irons again, it was a matter of getting the head down and going straight to the line to hold out against Elite Excalibur, who thought that he had won but the photo told it as it was. Infantry was third just ahead of Lim's Cruiser but the Patron's Bowl winner for 2017n is Alibi. He will probably continue to the Derby although that won't be his best trip but he's so tough there is no saying he won't get it.

And Debt Collector? We don't buy the arguments about lack of pace in the race - he just does not seem to be there at the moment. Certainly the longer trip could help but he's not convincing at this stage.

Earlier Ric Le Grange saddled 1st and 3rd in the BM 97 on the poly. Royal Ruler was the winner and The General was third, separated by Pioneer Seven who nearly got there. Olympic Anthem had the unfortunate experience of having the bit go through his mouth and he trailed in as a result.

Hard to see why there wasn't much talk about Alibi - his record is 7 wins and 4 seconds from 12 starts. His owners are very lucky people.
