And the most important of these is likely to be Cracksman. He's current favourite on 11/4 with his trainer John Gosden being quoted as saying that he thinks the race will be very tough and that only 16 days to the Derby may not be long enough if they are to head to Epsom.

Sir Michael Stoute's Crystal Ocean was an impressive winner at Nottingham and depending how bad the ground gets should be suited here and is on 4/1.

Godolphin have 4 runners from various yards with the bin Suroor rep Benbatl considered the best of them having run third in the Craven. He's on 11/2, the same quote as Lloyd Williams's Rekindling who won the Ballysax at Leopardstown and will be handled by the O'Brien brothers Joseph and Donnacha.

He should be able to handle the wet and have a slight edge on O'Brien père's Exemplar.

And we could give some serious consideration to the local Forest Ranger, trained by Richard Fahey just up the road, with 14/1 looking like value.

The Middleton also is G2 for the f&m 4+ and is over the same trip of around 2000m. There are only six runners here with So Mi Dar on evens and Queen's Trust 9/4. A race to watch presumably from somewhere dry.Racing And Sports
