French Oaks 2017

One of the highlights of the French racing year, this Chantilly feature is famous for both the equine and human fillies adorning the track.

This year's edition of the G1 over 2100m has two raiders vying for favouritism - the unbeaten Shutter Speed 2/1 for Gosden-Dettori, and the O'Brien (AP) Rhododendron with Ryan Moore on board also at 2/1.

However on her home track we will go for Terrakova, the daughter of Galileo and Goldikova. Freddy Head trains her as he did her mother and Maxime Guyon will ride. 5/1 is good value if you can get it.

Our roughie in this is the Godolphin runner Kitesurf, who is with Andre Fabre, who earned her place here in her previous outing and although this is a big jump in class 20/1 appeals.

Earlier there's the Prix Hocquart G2 over 2400m also for the 3yos but with only 5 runners we will stick the strength - Mask of Time on 13/8 for Andre Fabre and P-C Boudot.

And the Bertand du Breuil over 1600m for the 4y+ with 7 runners. Zelzal is first up for the season after the virus scare at Rouget's stables but is a course and distance winner here - the Jean Prat 2016. It could be a good day for the stable as Taareef is also in the market on 3/1.Racing And Sports
