John Thompson-trained two-year-old filly Tennessee Tango broke through for her first win in three starts in putting up a very good effort in winning here. She raced in sixth place (on the rails) behind a good pace before getting through to fourth at the home turn. She then set out after the leaders, coming with a strong late finish to grab victory on the post. She should appreciate further and is a filly to watch. The Kris Lees-trained filly Sasso Corbaro followed her good debut second at this track on 21 June with another close and promising second here. She raced in second last place in the eight-horse field, got along the inner on straightening going to third at the 200m before switching out to take the lead at the 100m, only to be caught on the post.
