He got to the front at the 200m and then drew away to score a comfortable win. Teronado settled towards to tail of the 11-horse field before commencing a wide move nearing the home turn. He put in a bid in the centre of the track at the 200m and made ground in dour fashion for a promising second at his third run this preparation. Lordag was back in seventh place, went deep rounding the home turn and kept battling on soundly to take the minor placing. The favourite Pajaro was back in ninth place on the rails, got between runners at the 200m and made ground, without threatening, for (2.2 lengths) fourth.
