It's day two of The Championships this weekend, with four Group 1's on a terrific 10-race program at Randwick, supported by black type racing at Morphettville, Ascot and Caulfield.

We were unlucky last week as Cardigan Queen failed to find the frame at Bendigo, but we expect to bounce back in a big way this Saturday.

This weekend, we include feature racing from right across the country as we trek toward Western Australia with the final leg appearing in the WATC Derby.

Let's get to it.

Randwick Race 5 Number 1 IN THE CONGOPlace

This colt returned in big way with a massive effort first-up in The Galaxy, running a new peak Timeform rating to go along with it. He's drawn to receive every chance with Tommy Berry sticking. We're expecting him finish in the placings.

Morphettville Race 8 Number 10 DAISIESPlace

Plenty to like about this filly! She was outstanding first-up at Flemington when rocketing home into fourth, and followed that up with a soft win around a Moonee Valley track that opposes her racing pattern. She looks primed for the rise to the 1800m, and she looks to be facing a less competitive field on Saturday in the Port Adelaide Guineas. We are going to play it safe and just have her to fill the frame, but the only thing that beats her is bad luck.

Ascot Race 8 Number 1 TRIX OF THE TRADEWin

Simon Dinopoulos was spruiking this horse in the Racing and Sports 'Weekend Review' podcast after he went down narrowly to current race favourite Alaskan God last time out. They meet at level weights on Saturday, which is a swing in his favour, and his late splits show he'll run the trip. We're expecting him to win the G2 feature.

This combination comes up at $6.12 (Ladbrokes, Thursday 3pm AEST) and you can listen to our thoughts in the audio player below.

Good luck.
