Racing at Sandown Lakeside and Randwick-Kensington on Wednesday and we’ve got a horse to follow from each.

Sandown Lakeside Race 1- Here To Shock

He didn't win, but I want to follow Here To Shock out of this race. He reared at the start and missed it by a length, having to work early to eventually cross and sit outside the leader. He kicked for home and was only overrun the last 50m. He's put in a very similar preparation to last, where he ran 4th, 4th then bolted in 3rd up over 1600m. He's posted a very similar ratings profile this time in and looks set to peak next start. Watch for him at 1600m in either a Bm70 or Bm78, ideally on a slightly drier track, and he should be hard to beat.

Randwick-Kensington Race 1- Airman

Another horse in the first, this time a debut winner in the form of Airman, who looks a very talented two-year-old for the Hawkes stable. Backing up some impressive trials, he sat back in the field and let rip with a big last 200m to win well, posting a strong figure in the process. He ran a faster overall time and last 600m than dominant maiden winner Contemporary a race later (a horse we had to follow a couple of weeks ago!). Both winners are capable of measuring up in stronger races, but Airman probably has a bit more upside given it was his first start. Hopefully we see the two clash in the Spring.
