No listed racing at Eagle Farm this week but a good track should aid confidence.

Unfortunately, last week the best value, Flandersrain, was scratched at 40-1. Fortunately, she's accepted for Saturday in a much easier race and we're still getting a price about her.

Her closing splits first up for a new stable in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1300m) were excellent, posting a new peak figure of 100 with Timeform. She's even better suited at 1600m and this is a big drop in class. She strikes a good track which is more suitable than last week, and she can roll forward in a race without a noted leader.

Bottega has come up a short favourite and I can understand why given his peak ratings win this comfortably, but he's also first up for a new stable at 1600m, and likely gets back and buried in a slowly run race. Can win, but can do so without me.

I'm surprised Flandersrain isn't second favourite and at 7-1 she looks an excellent gamble.

The other race I'm keenest to bet into is Race 5 as I make Honey Pot favourite over Spiritualised and the market (currently) does not.

Honey Pot was excellent first up at this track and distance when running third in the Listed Bill Carter Stakes and has held her form well at her last two starts. Now back to the Eagle Farm 1200m with a much kinder barrier, she looks ideally placed.

Hattusa is the other that makes appeal having narrowly beaten Honey Pot at Ipswich two back. She started 40-1 there but proved it was no fluke, posting an identical rating at Doomben since.

She lands in a great spot from barrier 4 and at 20-1 she looks over the odds.
