A deserving two-year-old headlines the best bets in Adelaide this week.
I've been on Eros (Race 4 #1) at both starts this campaign and he's come agonisingly close both times, a touch unlucky behind Winning Revolution first up, posting a figure that wins this, before regressing slightly last time on the synthetic when overrun late, beating off the market danger only to be claimed by a roughie who flew from the back.
He gets blinkers on for the first time just to sharpen him up that last furlong and keep his mind on the job, and with Todd Pannell booked from barrier 4, surely this is his day. He's relatively short again but backable at $2.40 and is due for a bit of variation to fall his way.
The other race I could look to play in is Race 6 with #4 Mr Have A Chat getting a favourable set up to run his best race. He was only run down very late by the once-promising Litchfield County and drops in weight for the slight rise in class.
The favourite, Quietly Discreet, is a complete enigma and whilst she won first up last time in, she's with a new stable and has a tendency to put in a few bad ones here and there so $2.50 looks rock bottom.
Mr Have A Chat should find the front fairly comfortably from an ideal draw and with a few of the key chances likely to get back in the field, he'll give a great sight and hopefully prove too quick for these.
