SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 3 @ 1:50 PM

GRAND IMPACT (5) went straight to the front and didn't give anything else a chance on debut in fast time. He'll take plenty of improvement from that and should be hard to beat again despite the rise in grade. HAFEY (3) resumes from a spell having run out an easy winner on debut in fast time. He wasn't disgraced in the Blue Diamond from a wide gate prior to spelling and can go close here with natural improvement. RIVER RIBBLE (2) was only caught late last start by the talented Thron Bone after running out an easy winner the start prior when first up. He looms as a danger. ATMOSPHERE (7) broke through last start when beating a handy type. He's one for the exotics approaching peak fitness fourth up. SELECTION: Grand Impact could be destined for better races.

SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 1:17 PM

SUPERARE (2) resumed over 1100m at Sunshine Coast Poly and showed good speed to stalk the lead before drawing clear to score by one length. Has won four of five attempts here. Can go on with it. V J DAY (1) won three in a row at a lesser level before a second over 1200m at Eagle Farm. Can measure up in this line up. DARE TO SHARE (6) is racing well, scoring by 5 lengths two back at Gympie before finishing second last time over 1380m at Bundaberg. Has claims on his best efforts. SELECTION: Superare to do it again.

HOBART: RACE 7 @ 2:41 PM

SUNSET GUN (7) has a decent record this track and distance and looked good at latest when a nose winner here on July 31. Nicely weighted here with the claim and will take plenty of catching. JOHN'S LAD (5) is hard fit now and drops back the mile after disappointing here when fourth over the 2100m last start. Backs-up quickly and can turn it around. ROMARY (1) will appreciate the class drop after running fifth over 1620m in open company at Launceston. Recent trial was good and will prove very hard to beat against these. RANSOM TRUST (6) has mixed form in easier races and place prospects look best. SELECTION: Box Quinella 7,5,1.

DUBBO: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM

RHYTHM IS A DANCER (2) just missed at Scone resuming for the new barn. Has come out of a top Victorian barn and hasn't missed a beat. Has a sticky gate but the longer sprint suits and he can go one better. KISS 'N' RUN (10) spiked her figures placing at Bathurst from the speed. Draws to advantage and a senior hoop goes on the for the apprentice. She's a quinella hope holding that form. SISTINE QUEEN (12) was only nabbed late second-up and well-supported. She can lift again and expect the in-form Gallagher to manage the awkward barrier. CRYSTAL BEANZ (6) is an improver who will ride the speed from the rail. The 3kg claimer goes on and she won't be far away. SELECTION: Backing Rhythm Is A Dancer.

SWAN HILL: RACE 7 @ 3:57 PM

NIGHT OF DELIGHT (7) is back from a 14-week layoff. Very effective 1000m sprinter who managed a placing in town last prep at Bm70 level. Boasts outstanding first-up stats of two wins and two placings from four attempts and is a great chance to build on that record today. COMRADE BILL (2) started in the red and proved a shade too strong last start in a Bm54 at Bordertown. Speedy gelding who should take up a forward position from the nice draw and can improve further at just the third run of the prep. FOSTER STREET (4) did a far better job last time when second up from a break, chasing gamely to finish fourth over this trip at Mildura. Lightly-raced four-year-old who looks ready to peak. Veteran mare WASABI (12) led until the final bounds over this distance at Mildura recently. Has a 50% top-three strike rate at 1000m from 36 runs. Great each-way hope. HIGHWAY TO SUCCESS (9) returned in terrific order last time and can win without surprising. SELECTION: Backing the first-up specialist Night Of Delight.

WAGGA: RACE 6 @ 4:01 PM

HARDWARE LANE (7) wasn't disgraced in Metro company last start, but it definitely wasn't his best effort. He finds a much more suitable race for him today, getting in lightly from a nice draw. He'll handle the conditions, and if he's anywhere near his best, he'll be hard to run down. NORTHERNERO (4) won well two back and wasn't disgraced at Swan Hill most recently. He can sit on the speed from a nice draw, he'll get through the going and being on the fresh side is not an issue. He looks the main danger. MAGNETIC (8) led and kicked away from an impressive win at Narrandera first-up. He gets in light again today after the 2kg claim, he's a course and distance winner and he's sure to go close on recent efforts. SELECTION: Backing Hardware Lane to win.
