THOROUGHBREDS
Moonee Valley: Race 1; #9 Elba
Elba has the raced form but geewiz she was dour first-up at Echuca, it looks like she needs 1600m and the map has potential to be a major issue. Good on Clinton McDonald for trying and succeeding to hide the jumpouts of Ohshe'strouble, hopefully he got a piece of the $26. A word of advice for him, if you are trying to do that, don't also nom the same horse for a black type race in another state in a fortnight's time.
Ipswich: Race 8; #8 Time To Testify
Comfortably against the second favorite (at time of writing) #8 TIME TO TESTIFY. Expect it to stay firm in the market, off the last start win where he sat wide no cover and still won. Rises considerably in weight here, and map suggests a negative position in run again here. Think this race is much deeper than last start, and wont be able to overcome main rivals who all look to get decent runs in transit.
GREYHOUNDS
Geelong: Race 10; #4 Tinker Goose
I'm not sure what to make of Tinker Goose, he won a very weak maiden here at Geelong, had plenty of luck in running but only ran 23.09. But then two starts back at Ballarat he runs a very slick 22.12. He is obviously improving with more racing but he will start close to favourite here and I'm not sure that should be the case. Riviera Bale may pressure him early and Beautiful Noir has some upside and that's enough to warrant a Lay bet on Tinker Goose here.
Geelong: Race 12; #8 Dimora Cruz
I can't have the wide boxes over this 520m start. Dogs really struggle to get across over this trip and Little Peg and Dutch Impact are going to get every possible chance to get the most economical runs possible and I believe one of them should win. At a shortish enough price, I'm happy to lay Dimora Cruz and hope he gets posted wide.
HARNESS
Gloucester Park: Race 6; #11 Major Express
Happy to lay Major Express here, as promising as he is the first go at GP from the second line can be a real trap and he has obviously had his issues. Just looks too short.
