TRIAL POINTERS

ROSEHILL July 23: The inside grass trials saw LOST produce a nice closing effort to finish second in the fastest 900m heat (54.15; 34.21). Other 2YOs to follow from the 900m trials include the strong winners THEBLADE and WINCHESTER, who showed better speed from his previous trial to lead and sustain his pace in a good heat.

RANDWICK July 19: HOUSE OF CARDS, a maiden winner from only five starts, was ready to resume after a good noted trial in May but an obvious hiccup in his prep delayed those plans. Resumed here in a 740m heat that again underlined his ability. Travelled wide but was always under a good to make up several lengths easily from the 300m and worked past the leader under a good hold for an impressive win.

NEWCASTLE July 18: Unraced youngster PRINCE OF SORTS is a smart runner, backing up his impressive debut trial win at Hawkesbury with a sharp win in the fastest of the four 920m heats (54.18; 34.71). Slipped away from them with ease at the 300m to win untouched by almost five lengths. The unraced LITERATURE TYCOON backed up his impressive first trial at this course on June 28 with another smart effort to finish second in his 920m heat (54.46; 35.38).

WARWICK FARM July 15: Unraced I Am Invincible filly VISUAL looks a coming winner for Godolphin after showing excellent improvement in her second trial to win her 792m heat 47.80; 34.20). Settled a few lengths back in fourth before surging past the leaders over the last 50m to win with plenty in hand.

HAWKESBURY July 8: Impressive first trial from PRINCE OF SORTS. The Tassort youngster put in excellent work over the last 200m of his 800m heat, running good time (47.97; 33.84) to cruise home by almost four lengths

ROSEHILL June 21: Expect a couple of late season winners to emerge from this session. THEBLADE did more than enough to warrant interest when he appears.
